Laminated wood kayak paddle complete. Used Cherry , Poplar , and Maple scraps to construct it. I also used special marine grade epoxy and marine grade lacquer specially formulated for underwater application. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Its a beast at about 7-feet.

Looks nice, did you offset the blades? I made a canoe paddle a few years back, looked great but used Maple which was a bit to heavy!

This is much lighter than you would expect because a feathers the thickness of each paddle but this is definetly not something I would want to use all day. it would be very labourios. This is just my first version and will more than likey upgrade one day to some lighter woods like basswood or teak. It is made to match the kayak I am also building and to just power me around the marina inlet a bit.
