A commission from a previous customer to make a display case for her husband’s model rail locomotive collection.
Although the piece is in pine, it’s stained deep mahogany to fit with other furniture. The adjustable shelves are sitting on push in brass bearers. In addition to the glass plates shown, there is a separate batten for fixing.
In fact this piece is shown not quite finished; it will have sliding glass doors, which the customer has agreed to have made up their end. As I will be couriering this half way across England, this saves the chance of the glass (6mm, toughened) being broken in transit.
I hope that you all like this little job, which has been very nice to make up. I’ve done a a work in progress picture set, which is at: https://www.facebook.com/david.simper/media_set?set=a.10152440379924603.1073741829.705549602&type=3
