So I have been a member for a few months and love going through projects of other jocks for ideas. So I figured it was time to stop being lazy and post a few that I have worked on.

I made this for a present this past Christmas. I got the idea from workshopaddict.com and thought it would be a fun pattern to do. It was my first project that I completed and a learned a lot. Mostly that wood projects can take time and should be planned out better if your on a time limit and are gonna give it for a gift. It is a wine holder that you place on a wine bottle (Middle hole), and then put glasses on the sides. Unfortunately I only have this one picture so I can’t show it in use.

It looks nice Dayne. What woods did you use? Im sure it was well received.

-- Bill M. I love my job as a firefighter, but nothing gives me the satisfaction of running my hand over a project that I have built and just finished sanding.

Thanks guys,

I can’t remember exactly what it was I used, but I think the wood was Maple and White Oak. I was just trying to find something that would show the color difference, and I hadn’t worked with different woods before, so the decision to buy was more based off of look.
