Project Information

After completing the King size bed with the bookcase-style headboard, my wife and I no longer needed the two large, two drawer nightstands we had, but she still wanted a small something to put a couple of items. I had originally planned to do a basic shaker style nightstand, but then my bride said she wanted sides and a back on the top to keep items from falling off, and also a shelf on the bottom. Since this wasn't going to be an "authentic" style shaker design anyway, I decided to go the easy route and use plywood for the top and shelf.

Most of the material is solid red oak, with mortise and tenon joinery. Drawer box is SYP. Finish is Sherwin-Williams Fruitwood stain with S-W water borne poly, to match the bed.
