This is the Pecan wood that William brought to the crawfish boil at eddies home in cajun country. He said he got it from a casket company. This is the plank that I used for the bowl. He didn’t mention any bodies, and I didn’t ask. Candy just might use it for a nut bowl, if she can stomach eating out of a casket. For some reason she acuses me of creative phrasing. It might be because I majored in Creative Writing at the university. I am also guilty of creative spelling at times. Thanks William for the great wood and even better friendship.
I also turned the middle sized bowl from cherry trim that Andy gave us. Great stuff Andy, Thanks. Milling and glueing kept me buisy for a little while. Then as I was turning it, learned that I had used the wrong glue. OK, so it has been more than 40 years since I was near a lathe.
The little bowl is the first one that I turned, just a piece of Oak I took out of the firewood pile. I liked the spalting and thought I try my hand at it…. HOOK, LINE and SINKER. It’s a good thing Candy was given the shopsmith so we can both turn at the same time. I might have to put a snake next to one of them to keep her from coming close enough to confiscate it.
Shower and cold drink time. Bye Y’all
