Whilst at LLWW getting the “Dominica’s Kitchen” artwork completed, my wife Aurora was facinated with the workings of the laser, and asked Larry if he could make an additional sign for her daughter in Makati.
I had enough veneer material to do another sign so Aurora and Larry planned out what she wanted.
Then the laser was away again, allowing Aurora to see the lettering beginings from the start to finish.
The Final product was a double sided sign with a couple of flowers lasered into the edges.
Once we got it home Aurora set to work interchanging the letters and setting up the contrast result.
Then it was a glue up onto a sandwich board and carefully into the Vac bag.
The frame is New Guniea Rosewood, and from what I have heard its very similar to Philipino Narra.
The lettering and background is again poplar and Kauri interchanged
Cannot remember what the sandwich material was, possibly ply!
Routed out a double sided frame from NGR and fitted it alll together.
The finish is Cabots polyeurathane spray can, fitted a couple of SS screw hooks and its ready for its trip.
LLWW for the laser work and time to do the addition work in his already busy schedule
