Here is my version of Paul Sellers Carrying Tote. Slightly different design and size but the same joinery. This was made out of some old growth pine bards that were shelves in our old farm house. The smell of this wood is intoxicating. I didn’t put a finish on it nor did I plane down the surfaces, I wanted to keep as much patina as I could. The one picture of me holding the board shows the self supporting dado’s before they are finished with the router plane.

I just meant that the joint for the dado what tight enough that the boards would stay in the joint with out falling out. The joint is friction tight, not too lose that the boards fall out and not to tight that the wood fibers compress and you have to beat them in with a hammer.
