Padauk and cherry table

This is my latest project, finished today. It’s a table destined to hide a dehumidifier, as you can see in the pictures. The sides are fuller in order to hide the dehumidifier, consisting of a lamination of Cherry and African Padauk. The top is padauk as is the drawer front.

More for looks than anything else, I added a small drawer to which I made the dovetails by hand (see the last picture). The handle of the drawer is in cherry as well and slightly beveled, to ease grasping it, and also slightly round in the front to have a recall of the curve at the bottom of the side legs.

A plus on this one. Super combination of wood, design, color and idea. I would be interested to see this piece in a few years as both woods will age beautifully .
