PLATFORM BED

Hi gang
Here’s a bed I made for a customer she said she wanted a platform bed but wanted box springs in it. I made it so the box springs are hidden but the mattress sets up high,it actually covers an inch of the bottom wide board on the book case head board. It’s made from poplar and the customer is going to paint it, it’s rails are 17” high and the bed measures a little over 62 wide and 91” long, the center shelf on the head board is adjustable. Nothing fancy but built to last .

The poplar has some nice grain. Nice pattern matching. I’d want to do a Charles Neil on it. LOL!

Well done sir! How long to build it? Glad you are working. :<)

Well done Jim !...Agreed with all that mentioned how they like working with poplar. It takes paint well but I’m one of the few (maybe) who likes the look of the mineral staining with a natural finish.

Nice work. Ought to look even better once she gets it painted and the bedspring/mattress in…..but HOW is that possible! LOL….you did a very nice job on this.
