Those woods worked well together. That carved/burned scroll in the corner is very cool.

Ah yes, mesquite, such a beautiful wood.
The design of the box really compliments the woods you used.

I didn’t get around to taking another pic before the customer picked it up this morning but the Pecan lid changed dramatically over night. I started noticing that the colors were turning lighter around 7:00 last night. This morning it was a rainbow of colors. Pink, tan, orange, gray and brown. Guessing it was a delayed reaction to the boiled linseed oil.

I made a back up box out of the same board. I will finish it tomorrow and if the same thing happens, I will have before and after pics.

Looks great! The Pecan came out a bit darker than I am used to seeing. But it is gorgeous… I especially love the grain on that mesquite… Mesmerizing…
