Project Information
My completed project is a cypress, alder, and bloodwood hall table. The finished dimensions are 54L x 20W x 36T
The breadboard ends are loose mortise and tenon and screwed in the center. The other two plugs are for show so the tenons can move. I used figure 8 fasteners for attaching the tabletop to the apron. The detail on the alder legs is a 45 degree chamfer at 8 inches from the bottom. The edge of the apron and legs have the same chamfer. I milled everything from S2S rough lumber. The finish is Charles Neil Pre-stain Blotch Control (Thanks Charles it worked great on Cypress) oil based Varithane dye stain, Varithane oil base poly thinned with MS. One coat of dye and 3 coats of poly. It took about month and a half from start to completion. This was a lot of firsts on the project and have grown as a woodworker because of it.
