Here is my last cutting board, at least for awhile, I love building these things, This one is a little more complex than some of the others i have built. There is about 300 individual pieces in this one, and many hours gluing and putting it together. First two pictures are of the the board itself, with the third picture showing the board flipped, and showing the bottom with the rubber bumpers. The two alternating pieces along with the bumpers, keep the board elevated, and somewhat more adaptive to uneven surfaces, and scratching counter tops The 4th pic. just shows the board along with a previous bowl that i made (Kathy’s Bowl). http://lumberjocks.com/projects/85291

Pictures 5&6 are a close up view of the zig zag ribbon effect. This is simply done by taking the Southwest Indian Blanket design, (Malcolm Tibbetts) and stretching it a bit. Woods used, Walnut, Cherry,Hard Maple, Curly Maple, Tulipwood,Yellowheart, Bloodwood, Wenge, and African Blackwood. Size 12” X 16” Finish is 3 coats of Butcher Block Oil&Finish sanded between coats with #600 sandpaper .

This board, along with a diagonal laminated 6 different woods rolling pin will be a wedding gift for my Nieces daughter.

C and C Welcome.

That is a board I would not use! I would hang it on the wall. Beautiful!

That took some time and some organization! I’d probably get through it and realize I glued one of the pieces in backwards!
Amazing time, patience, and attention to detail.

Beautiful board. Reminiscent of Indian style segmented turnings that have been so popular. Very nicely done!

Wow! Don, This board it magnificent!. Some interesting patterns here. Like Mike said, “Reminiscent of Indian style segmented turnings” Great work! It’s what I would expect from you! :)

Edit… Your project is much better than that hunk of 2”x4” that got the Daily Top 3 a while back, seriously!
