Step stool for the little one so he can do the dishes… Structure made of whitewashed pallet wood and the steps are boards of the local hardwood Sapán. The steps were lightly sanded and oiled. The Colombian hardwood Sapán is a very dense and beautiful wood, unaffected by insects and weather.

Thank you, didn’t fancy the more traditional designs that I saw on the web so I sketch up’d this one instead.

Great design!
Like the lines and contrast between the light and the dark wood.
What did you use to witewash the pallets?

@Theloveteddy: having tried to do it the proper way with my sons sandbox, lime washing it, with not the greatest results (comes off, will dry you out when painting), I decided to do this the easy way, 50-50 cheap white vinyl paint and water, laying it on with a brush and using a wet rag to wipe it off until desired effect.

Er du dansker?

@ Joe, thanks a lot, nice that you liked it. I am swedish and used to a more strict scandinavian design, so that is what I like to do when woodworking as well.

@kaerlighedsbamsen, jeg er svensker og driver en café i Colombia, www.cafebonsai.com og driver litt med trearbeid ved siden av, mest for å holde hodet i orden.

Nice cafe you´ve got! Could easily see it furnished with your own scandinavian furniture..

Me too, but we are selling it and moving to the states so no more projects for the cafe now unfortunately.

Cool design. I love the clean contemporary lines on this.
