My son converted a small room between his garage and his kitchen into his Mud room.

He asked me to also design 3 custom benches that fit into the mud room. Since they are painted white, I used lower cost pine to make the benches.

I used 3/8” dowel construction for the bench end pieces, then Kreg pocket screws to build the boxes.

The photo of the finished benches is in my basement. Because his mud room is so skinny, it is hard to take a good photo of the benches in his mud room.

The bottom slats are for storing his wife’s shoes. The bench with no slats is so my son can store his size 13 boots under the bench.

You can read and see all of my trials & tribulations of building the mud room and the 3 benches at my web site.

Thanks!

I sat down and tried out the benches at my place, after I got them finished. They are pretty comfortable for setting down and changing your shoes.
