Circle Deck with S-Curve

I’ve done a hand-full of “curved” projects and circles out of both wood and composite material. While composite decks almost always lend themselves to curved aspects of building, I just love the look of real wood. I also feel that it’s far more impressive and gives you that “how did you do that?” moment when you are able to make wood bend.

This recent project is one of my favorites. The customer wanted a “dream” deck to match their round hot-tub (to be installed next week). We have around 2,000 “kerf” cuts in this deck to make the design…and quite a bit of structural support underneath.
