This is part of the box elder root burls I bought late last year. They were dug almost 40 years ago and put into storage. Yes they were dry when I bought them. This piece was turned and Bleached, with lacquer finish.
12 inches wide and 6 inches tall

That is a beauty, Ron. The bleaching really makes it clean looking!! Nice finish, too!

The bleaching has given the 40yo wood a great new look Ron. Very nice bowl. Wonder if the bleaching would work on females.

Looks very good and unusually white, which makes it more unique.

Beautiful bowl. I’m always looking for more color in a piece but the less is more approach really works here. I’m going to try that some time. Can you explain the process.

Very, very Nice, I love the “Cool” look.

Bob.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Kayvon I use the two part bleach from Woodcraft. The stuff is amazing. It will take most of the color out of walnut. Apply part A let it soak in. Then part B. Yes wear gloves. B is Hydrogen peroxide and it will almost take your skin off

For me this is post number 498. It makes it to the daily top 3, yes it makes me happy. But I have done so many other things that are not functional and they don’t get this kind of attention. You just don’t know how much I hate making functional pieces. but then I have two more bowls in work LOL
Thanks to all for the looks and comments
