This band saw box is called “the aurora,” and the design is featured in Lois Keener Ventura’s book, Building Beautiful Boxes with Your Band Saw. Kenny is a huge fan of her designs and credits them (the designs, book, and author) with being a big influence on his work with the bandsaw.
Thanks for the viewing,
—Maureen. (Who is curious to know whether band saw is one word or two.)

SIZE: Approx. 9.5×5.5×5.5”

Body and drawers: aromatic cedar
Handles: juniper
Lining in drawers: black velvet flocking

FINISH: Polymerized tung oil

Well done, and well executed.

Bandsaw box making is fun to do, box making without the normal rules.

Hi all!
Kenny says,
“Thanks everyone! Your comments are very encouraging!
I’m planning on doing more band saw boxes in the future, but with a harder wood. Maybe western maple.
Thanks again for the nice words.”

And, as always, thanks from me too.
