This project is likely one of the ones that started me on the woodworking journey. We wanted to have a small secretary desk in our little front hall, something that had a small footprint and a small flat surface so that it wouldn’t become a catch all. I had in mind that I would build one and began thinking along those lines. But one day we spotted a small secretary desk at a bargain price. It needed some minor repairs and had been painted black at some recent time. The hardware for the desktop was bent, but repairable. We stripped it down, replaced the plywood back and did a minor drawer runner repair. The original finish was reddish, so we re-stained it in a mahogany color. New pulls on the drawers were added and now we have our little secretary
