Well I was told that this desk originally in my great-grandparents chicken house for a very long time. Some how got to my house were it was our computer desk for years. Untill my father and I redid in 2007, so i could have something for my apartment at college. I wish i had a picture of it before we modified it. But we took it down to the bare essentials, we remade the drawers and top and removed a panel from the left side for more leg room. I also need to have storage space for books and other junk so we made a hutch to go on top. But by far my favorite aspect of this project is my granddad who lives in my great-grandparents house now had to take down a walnut tree that was beside the chicken house and we used some of the walnut timber from that tree to make the bread board edge around the desk top.

Later when I get a chance I want to make more peices, with more of the walnut lumber, to go along with this desk.

Very nice job reworking the piece. One of my favorite pieces that I posses, is a nice Teak “homework” desk that my Great-Grandfather made for my Mom, Aunts and Uncle to use when they were children.
