Cherry Cutting Board with knife tray

This is a project taken right from Woodsmith magazine. We had a couple weddings coming up so I decided this was a great time for this project. Long grain cherry top, sanded to 320, sealer coat of shellac, 7 coats varnish, two coats wax. Smooth as glass. Walnut feet, birch ply trays and magnets hold the knives in place.

That knife tray is a neat idea, especially with the magnets. I like how form-fitting it is.
