Silver maple with blond shellac finish. I used 2 fillers for the worm holes, padauk dust and super glue, and black gasket sealer. I planned on using dyed epoxy but couldn’t find it so used what was at hand. The only other tricky part was drilling the handle.

Video of the process,

Nice work, sure beats the—out of the crinkle finish black base, chrome shaft ones we’ve got at work !

Pretty resourceful fillers. Looks great. Depth and texture highlights. Very kewl.

If I can ask what may be a stupid question about the vid. You were tapping the work a couple of times. Were you just pointing out the wormholes or were you listening for something in the turning.

Whoa, 3509 views? WTH? There is a glitch in the matrix.

Anyway, I tried to respond earlier tinman but I kept getting an error message. I was just pointing out the inlay.
