These boxes are a mix of this.. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/100683 and this.. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/101268. It seams like there is never an end to this hobby of ours. One project gives way to another, and that one leads to still another. I get a kick out of trying new things and seeing what happens (It usually doesn’t get me into too much trouble as long as fireworks and beer aren’t involved) The tricky part of these was keeping the sides oriented once the outer layer of walnut was in place to keep the maple matched up so the grain wraps around after part of the walnut is carved away. These are 4×4x4, finished with wipe on poly.

Those curves are verry nice detail on box. Wood colour contrast looks verry nice.
