The is a cherry and bubinga pen display box with two levels of pens. The top inside box is removable and allows access to the second level of pens. The box is finished with 5 very thin coats of shellac and then a light coat of wax. With the wax coating on top of the shellac the box is silky smooth and feels wonderful to the touch.

Looks great. From one who really likes pen and pencil boxes. LOL

Liked this box and was looking at some of you other projects, and read the one on the pen kits. Loved the look of the pens and working on a artist pencil box for my daughter…err still…. cannot seem to decide which way to go with it… Been looking around at a lot of different Cantilever style boxes.

Was thinking how I would display the pens, and with my daughters box in mind. Started wondering if you thought of doing a multi-tiered Cantilever style box. Something along the lines of the wood pencil artist box or the old multi-tiered cigarette boxes. Which would give you a box that allowed you to easily display them upon opening the box.

Pop’d into mind so figured I’d mention it.

mdb5972,

I didn’t consider a cantilever design for any other reason than I didn’t think of giving it a try. If you make your box with one drop me an email letting me know.

Great looking pen box. I have been toying with coming up with some pen cases that I can build in a production mode to sell on my Pen Site. Nice job on this case.

A very nice way to display, and carry a load of pens. Nice build.
