My daughter asked to build a birdhouse with me. This is a fairly simple design based loosely on a design found in Woodcraft magazine from last year. Cedar with a coat of walnut oil. I got the cedar planks at the big red and blue store and then resawed them on my bandsaw. After running the 1/2” boards through my planer they were mainly cut with the bandsaw. My daughter helped in every part of the operation (as much as a 4-yr old can). The finish was done completely by her. The house is sized for a bluebird.
Once the oil dries we’ll hang the thing from the maple in the backyard this weekend.

Joe,
That’s a great project to share with your daughter.
Your third picture should have been your lead picture. When they say; “a picture is worth a thousand words”, that picture says it all!............so cute.
