I built a plane till cabinet in 2009 but have since become even more involved with hand work. These specialty tools have a tendency to get shuffled around a lot without a designated place where they fit….so….started off with pine & milk paint for the old Stanley #51 and the LN Router…then poplar for the LN #140 Skew Block and now this Veritas Plow Plane gets cherry w/oil finish. They all fit nicely on my bench shelf.
Anyone else build boxes for planes?

You have some very nice planes. They deserve these fine resting places between workouts.
Yes, I built a plane box for a few of mine too.

WOW, Paul! I guess you DID build a plane box. Certainly outshines anything I’ve done. Thanks for looking and commenting. I’ll be following you, if you don’t mind…..I like your enthusiasm! BTW…is the “Patrick”you mention Patrick Edwards?? His shop is just down the street from my house. He’s a legend around these parts….and we have a lot of ‘legends’ in our San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association.

Thanks Don, yours are much more practical though.
Actually the person I was referring to was Patrice Lejeune, Patrick’s partner so you were close, but no cigar. :-)
I’ve spent two very enjoyable weeks with the two of them ….... just down the street from you.
