Floating Top Table

Here is a floating top table I made for a friend. The base is painted poplar and the top is walnut. The legs are curved and tapered and the apron is attached with mortise and tenon joinery. I would say that 90% of the work was done with hand tools but the finish was sprayed with my HVLP.

It’s a Graco HVLP 2500. Works great with lacquers but it does not like to spray paint.

Very nice build Greg. I like the contrast between the painted base and the walnut top.

Thank. I needed something light to seperate the top from the walnut floors that it will be sitting on or else I feel it would have all blended together.
