Learnin' myself to carve

I wish I had tried this years ago. But, sitting on the porch carving was not as much fun back then. I have made my front porch [pic 5]on my shop into my carving studio and spend way too much time sitting on it lately. These little wizzard’s and santa’s are now filling up a new shelf in my shop display room at an alarming rate. Oh yea, I even made a carving knife. More of these to come along.

Doug, it sure looks like you are off to a wonderful start. Those are all nicely done and you are right, carving is one of the most enjoyable things that you can do in wood working. Keep up the great work.

You are not going to believe this but that is eerily the spitting image of my sister. It gives me goose bumps To look at her in the flesh. She never was very pretty. I think that was due to her beard and hair covered arms as a child. Alistair

By the looks of your porch you’re lucky to get anything done. Nice carvings.
