Cedar stools w/a twist

This is the 2nd and 3rd cedar stools I’ve made. They stand about 22” high and 13-14” wide. Cedar tops and hickory legs. The “hole” in the one is 8” wide and 3” deep. The “lift” is in the knotty groove in the top. Turned out great and these stools look good in the shop, outside the shop and I think will make a great Summertime garden gift for someone. Thanks for the looks and comments.

i dont quite follow this one, i guess the main question is how do you open the center section , what is the lid sitting on , as to not fall in, is the opening larger then the rest of the hole…a little more detail please…

Very cool cedar stools.
Grizzman , the knotty groovy part on the top serves us the lift to open the center section. I guess…..
