As I said in my post, very well made ,I like everything about it,the combination of Walnut/Cherry/Cedar,the dovetail, the wooden hinges.the overall proportion.I’ll give it two thumbs up.

Awesome, one of the most unique designs I’ve seen.

Thanks a lot folks, appreciate the comments. The hinges are made out of oak. I wasn’t sure if a combination of 3 different types of wood would go together.

Great design! Not sure what style to call it, but great design. Kind of mediaeval, arts & crafts, steampunk. I really like the way the two piece lid opens, very innovative and practical.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks leaf,
I seem to have a weakness for curvy things and I use french curve rulers to design my curves. Sometimes I surprise myself by hand drawing the curves and then using the rulers to refine it only to find out a few adjustments in the drawing fits the ruler’s curve.

gfadvm, Thanks. As in the movie Matrix, bending things a little bet can create a new world; maybe!!
