Spring Fever has arrived. Am actively looking for any project that gets me outta the office for the afternoon. Followed plan ideas from Norm Abrams. These are very comfortable chairs. I have a couple of the molded plastic Adirondack type and the comfort doesn’t compare. The Mrs prefers a couple exterior cushions with hers.

Made from Cyprus. My first project to use Cyprus. It is enjoyable to work with. The clear stuff was ~$6 and a 8” x 14’ board with a couple knots was $2.20/ft. That’s less than pine. Finished with four wipe-on applications of a 50:50 tung oil & spar varnish blend. Spilled water and rain beads up like a waxed car.

Came out nice. Good job. I wish Cyprus could be had for that kind of money around here. I’m in MN and even the $6 number looks decent. Looks like you deviated a bit from norm’s plans on the back. Is the back still arched? It’s tough to tell in the photos.

I’m just about finished with a cedar set and I’m looking forward to having them out on the deck this week.

Nice job on that chair build.

I am selling my cypress WAY too cheap @$1 a BF! And all clear with no knots. I even lined a horse shed with a bunch of clear cypress because no one was buying it.
