I was finally able to upgrade our log out front. White oak limb with a gnarled end from being broken off in a storm. The letters are carved in with a mallet and chisel; the flag is also carved but the effect of shadows was achieved with paint, not carving. I carved an AR15 out of Maple and bolted it to the end to support the log. I wanted to put more detail into the rifle, but just ran out of time; too many more orders piling up. I have been holding onto this log for almost 4 years with this project in mind; glad it’s finally done! three coats of Spar Urethane to protect.

Wow! You show soo much creativity. Great insight into your customer’s interest and/or preferences. Most excellent execution. A real WOW sign! I am a retired sign maker and I know a classy sign when I see it.

Great job. Looks like you could easily go into the paint business too!

Great job! I’d be worried about someone stealing this nice piece.
