Kingwood Bowl

Thanks to my Mentor I was able to turn a kingwood bowl. It is *8X4” made in compound segmented style. It cut like butter but the oil in the wood is a glue-up challenge. Had to clean the edges with thinner first. It is a very dense wood. Finish spray lacquer.

They are very correct. One of the prettiest bowls I have seen in a long time. Beautiful wood and you displayed it well.

beautiful work. The grain pattern visible in the top view looking down into the bowl is amazing.

Kingwood is a beautiful wood and you certainly did it justice with this project. I especially like that you did it segmented style, letting the grain burst out from the middle. I also like the shape, very modern looking. Thanks for sharing! :)
