Tiger Maple Table

This is a tiger maple, walnut and bird eye table I made for my brother-in-law last. The Design we worked on together. It is finished with danish oil, poly and poly gel. This wood was so highly figured it was a real pain to work with. 22 mortise and tenion joints are in the base. The last picture you can see a little of the u haul that he used to haul it to D.C. from Vermont.

REALLY nice build!

Trestle-style furniture is some of my favorite designs – very simple but elegant and with great lines.

You put just enough details into this without overdoing it and making it too busy.

And that Maple is fantastic – you have one lucky brother-in-law! Or, should I say he does!

Love the wood. Love the joinery. Love the table! I’ll bet the photos don’t do the tabletop justice.
