i made this project for mothers day. (my mother is a dental hygientist) the cavity is deep enough to hold tooth brushes at her office. it was glued up as pine roughly 5×5x8 with the cavity left open. the toughest part was realizing too late that none of my bench top tools are deep enough to cut through 5” thick so the “legs” had to be cut with a sawzall. finished off with some white paint to make it a pearly white!

I can truly say that I’ve never seen another one like this … love it … my granddaughter is also a dental hygienist, I think I will copy your idea just to see her smile.

I hope the white paint was enamel !!

What may I ask is a sawzall?....something out of the dental Lab?

Finally what did your Mum think of it?

Robert:
‘Sawzall’ is Milwaukee’s model name for their reciprocating saw … kind of like “Skill Saw” being used for any circular saw.
