My Bathroom sink area was getting over run with my wife’s hair equipment. I went in to the shop and built a quick basket. I routed rabbits on the ends of all my boards. Glued up and oiled with wipe on poly. I used hardwood I bought at a Home depot.

the first pic looks like purple heart, and I know my Home Depot’s don’t carry that, sp what is it? And, Oak is the only hardwood my local HD’s carry as well.

Thanks guys, I’m not sure what species it is. The darker wood was heavy but the lighter wood was light weight. The grain popped when the poly hit it. I put cedar in the bottom. There is slight gaps between each board to allow for air movement. My wife was pleased with it. Now on to a tray and some smaller baskets. See ya.
