I have been spending most of my time on big projects lately. I wanted to do something a little different for piece of mind. I have never made one with the lid like this. Originally I was going to attempt to sculpt it. I decided to leave it as is. Sculpting will come soon. It’s from an old oak log with elm for the top. I used danish oil and wipe on poly. It’s 12” x 8” x 3”.

Monte, it looks great!! Seriously, it is more than “nothing special.” I oak looks real nice and I really like the splines in the corners.

Your title is way off…
“Something Special”, would be more appropriate!!!

Keeping “piece of mind” is critical.
I’m way beyond that….
I’ve lost my mind!

boxes are beautiful, and i think whoever is the maker of the box…well they leave just a small bit of themselves behind with the box, may the boxes rule…

We have all become used to seeing superb work from you and this certainly a prime example. You seem to always have the right piece of wood that sets your project apart. I enjoy seeing your postings and hope we can meet this summer when you come down this way. Good job.

My wife always has told me I have piece of mind…and maybe one day I will have a complete mind…
