The patina just keeps getting richer and softer as it ages!

Beautiful, just beautiful.
I’m trying to find some Douglas fir for a couple little projects. Nobody local carries it -

Very nicely done. The proportions in the design seem to bring out the grain, or visa versa. Excellent.

Very nice! That pink of DF is distinctive.

I live in a 1953 vintage prairie house and except for the hardwood floor in the living room and bedroom, every stick of wood in this house is douglas fir. Right from the framing down to the window and door trim and even the kitchen cabinets. We are just now painting the kitchen cabinet doors…they haven’t weathered the last 60 years too well. DF gets so hard as it ages, you can’t drive a nail into it even, at some places.

Another amazing piece. How do you sleep at night, making the rest of us feel like such amateurs? :-)
