The wood i used is oak, Mahogany, walnut, maple, cherry, and ash. I Picked out out all the wood. And cut the strips down to the size I wanted them to be. When they were all to size then I put the strips in a pattern and glued it all together. I then planed it flat and cut the board in to 1 1/4 inch strips. Then I took the strips and faced them grain side up, I flipped over every other strip, and glued it together again. I then worked on flattening it with a belt sander and drum sander. Then I routed the sides, used the vibrating sander to make the top smooth, and put 8 coats of mineral oil on it.
