here in a couple of weeks several of us Lumber jocks wanted to get together to pay tribute to a fellow lumber jock ’’ Roger Clark aka Rex ’’ that we had lost a ways back to cancer he fought a good fight and hes now with the Lord but he was one that all ways looked on the bright side of life and a wit and humor unmatchable the world s a bit dimmer with out him .so we decided on a meeting and some fellowship with a Gumbo/crawfish boil with some items being made to give to his family , thanks William the plaque looks great which will be posted at a latter date

http://lumberjocks.com/utrbc001

Its a craw fish table made from a sheet of plywood and trimmed out with some cypress wood on the edges to keep them from falling off the edge and a hole cut int the middle so a trash can can be put under the bottom for the shell and heads to be thrown away , after it was made found a old lazy susan in the shop and mounted it on the circle that was cut out and can be used for a regular table top,i had made some bench /picnic tables a while back ,http://lumberjocks.com/projects/69361 ,and these picnic tables can be used as a half tables too so got to looking and found that the top will fit to a tee with the two half’s spread a part a foot r so apart. that’s the first pic , also can be used on some saw horses as a standing table with some folding saw horses that work very well http://lumberjocks.com/projects/17083 .the red flor de lis craw fish were free hand drawn so they aren’t real pretty but it gives it character that’s what i say when it s just aint perfect :) .sanded with 220 and finished it with some spar poly and the cypress trim had an old can of cherry and stained to darken it up a bit then a coat of poly on it also and coated the bottom as well , i didn’t get a pic but i cut a french cleat on the bottom side out of a 4’ 2×4 for hanging it on the wall for storage . thanks for looking here’s a video for eating crawfish

Great setup, Eddie. I’ll be with y’all in spirit during the boil. It will be a good time with good conversations, I’m sure.

Roger Clark, aka Rex was one of the good guys, and though I never had a chance to see him face to face, I will miss his perspective and humor.

Great job on this Eddie. Rex would have been proud to join you. I wish I could join you this year. But next year we’ll make a date!

Oh man… I’m gonna miss all that fun The table looks fantastic, Eddie. The benches, however, look like they’ve been around the block a few times. I sure hope nobody gets a splinter where the sun don’t shine!

WIsh I was there. Rex a was special friend. We stopped up at his house a couple of years ago and cut out a dead tree for him.
I always wanted to go again but even before the doc said I can’t travel, so I never got to go.

He was a special person.

eddie, You know that Roger will be there in spirit. I would love to have heard his take on eating mud bugs! Table is just the ticket for this gathering.
