I made a cutting board for a school project. I started off by grabbing cherry, oak, walnut and maple and making them 20 inches in length and they had to equal 8 inches in width put together. Once I found all of my wood I glued them together and clamped them. I then trimmed the edges down and put it through a planer. After I planed it I cut it into strips and reglued it flipping every other strip. I then sanded it with a belt sander and after that the drum sander. Following that I routed all my sides and rounded the edges with the disk sander. I then put on mineral oil so food and other things can be cut on it
