When given the task of building a saddle rack I started over thinking it. I want everything in my house to be the best. While I did all the other stuff involved with the tack room build I would look in the Conor and wonder what I could do with the rack. Then it hit me “keep it simple”. It’s a saddle rack! All it needs to do is hold a saddle and be out of the way when it’s not. This isn’t my design I just dressed it up a bit. Material needed was 8 screw eyes, 8 rope hooks, 8 pieces of 2×6 pulled from a dumpster on a construction site ( with permission) and 2 1×6. I painted the 1×6 to match the trim and stained and polyed the 2×6 to match the door. As for the rest of the tack room the drywall was the easy part as that’s what I did most my life, the cabinets were on their way to a dumpster on a job I was working on. They never made it and I still have some left for my workshop. Yay! Total cast for the whole room $200 and most of that was paint. Thanks for looking I’ll be building the counter top out of 2×4s next so any suggestions or comment are welcome. Enjoy!
