Tool Cabinet

I did a blog on this tool cabinet but never posted it as a project. Fine Woodworking had an article in their annual Tools and Shops edition on a wall cabinet by Mike Pekovich. I took that enlarged it and modified it to fit my tools.
Its made of Maple, 1/4’ Birch plywood door inserts and the back is Russian Birch plywood. Dovetails on the cabinet box and door boxes. A French cleat holds it to the wall. I find I use my hand tools a lot more now that I don’t have to walk upstairs to get them.

That will be a great addition to your shop.

Bruce, I built some wall hung cabinets, not nearly as nice as yours, and it increased my tool storage three fold. Nice work, these look good enough to put into a kitchen.

Beautiful job, Bruce. I like the pattern matching you did on the doors. I’ll bet it’s oh-so-convenient, too!

Neat! I love the double-folding-door-inside-a-door idea … it certainly gives you miles more storage. And that’s a lovely collection of planes.
