A Kinda Double Box

I still haven’t gotten to HD for any wood so I am still just toying around with little projects from what scrap I have left. I sure wish someone would send me some BKP.

I’m not even sure what woods I used for this little double box but they were out of the scrap box. It is just a design I drew up the other nite and I wasn’t sure how I would even go about making this. Worked out that I just made each part as I needed it. It was tougher than I thought it would but it was interesting to make. Hidden hinge pins are copper nails. Been playing with it for 3 days. It’s a give away item for someone who likes it. Don’t know what they can use it for. I may line the box and call it a man’s jewelry box for rings, keys, watch and whatever.

Lost my concentration on this and hit the table saw with the end of my thumb. Luckily only got a deep scratch that bleed a lot but nothing serious other than an apparently much needed safety reminder.

Gotta get some wood tomorrow. Maybe I’ll get Kathy to take me to Woodcraft, Inc. and see if they have anything I can afford. Either that or swipe a pallet from behind HD. I know they would give me one if I asked but it’s more fun to nick one.

Excellent. Love the design. Beautiful color.

I just thought I had seen every conceivable box design! Very innovative.

Great great job. It’s amazing what our imaginations can conjur up. Definitely one of a kind.

This is different. Different is good. Sand out that glue, though.

That glue spot is really difficult to sand. I am thinking of just staining the inside of the box to cover it. Thanks
