Fish hot plate holder

I got my idea from a design i saw on here. I used oak for all the pieces.The slits are made from dado cuts then glued together. For the head i saw a piece with a knot in it and thought it would be good for the eye. The stain is walnut with two coats of rub on poly.

That’s a super looking trivet ,very cleaver to use the knot as an eye.

I love it . and most people would have tossed the piece with the knot in it, but you put it great use.

Really cool. I might try it myself. Ive got tons of hardwood scraps just begging to be used. Really enjoying all the creativity on this forum.

Cool design and great job utilizing the knot. I like the smiley mouth as well.
