Very nice.
How thick is the wood, and do the screws hold well?

Wood thickness varies from 1/4” to 3/8”. The multi-colored buckles are assembled with CA Glue. The screws do hold well I used tiny screws and pre-drilled them after using dabs of the CA Glue to hold the buckles in place.

I like this very much and would like to make one for myself. Where did you find the hardware.

I bought a gross of these years ago from a Tandy dealer in FL. These are not exactly the same, you may have to drill holes to attach with screws to your buckle.
