Here are some photos of wood belt buckles I make. The first photo shows completed buckles, second photo shows the attachment of the buckles (I got them from Tandy leather), third photo are works in various stages of completion.

Very nice.

How thick is the wood, and do the screws hold well?

Wood thickness varies from 1/4” to 3/8”. The multi-colored buckles are assembled with CA Glue. The screws do hold well I used tiny screws and pre-drilled them after using dabs of the CA Glue to hold the buckles in place.

I like this very much and would like to make one for myself. Where did you find the hardware.

I bought a gross of these years ago from a Tandy dealer in FL. These are not exactly the same, you may have to drill holes to attach with screws to your buckle.

Belt buckles is definitly one thing I would have never thought of making out of wood. I will have to make one. Thanks for the idea.
