With Mother’s Day coming up quick, I put together a quick tutorial on this Welcome Porch Post I made for my mom last year. I think most women enjoy a pretty porch, so if you are running out of ideas maybe this would be a good option.
I have a full tutorial on my blog here, but a summery is: I grabbed a 4×4 post and cut it to the height I wanted. Then cut four squares for the top and bottom and attached them. I painted everything white first then came back with the black. Once everything was dried I took sandpaper to it, to give it a rustic look.
I made the sign from a piece of fence wood. Once I put down some white paint, I made a stencil and stenciled Welcome on. Then put two screws in the back and attached some wire for it to hang by.
