Made from red oak and walnut
Finished in Dutch Oil
Other than the initial figuring of angles the hard part was the circle.
The largest hole saw or Forster bit I had was 2-1/8” but I needed the circle to be 3”. So…I drilled the hole at 2-1/8” and then turned the circle insert. As the walnut pieces are about 1/8” proud I turned the circle to fit the 2-1/8” hole but with a lip making it overhang by the necessary amount. Made for a better looking fit as well.
