Made from red oak and walnut
Finished in Dutch Oil

Other than the initial figuring of angles the hard part was the circle.

The largest hole saw or Forster bit I had was 2-1/8” but I needed the circle to be 3”. So…I drilled the hole at 2-1/8” and then turned the circle insert. As the walnut pieces are about 1/8” proud I turned the circle to fit the 2-1/8” hole but with a lip making it overhang by the necessary amount. Made for a better looking fit as well.

Great looking piece, Rob.
I really like the wood combo.

Are you permitted to be woodworking….
While you’re supposed to be saving the world??? ;^)

Looks fantastic, DY. Now, if it could just have the Army emblem on it …. grin.

Love the wood combination. The red oak makes the walnut really stand out.

Hello,

What is the price on the shadow box? MY wife is retiring from the AF (MSgt) and she loves this shadow box that is pictured above. Thank you. Shipping is to Hawaii 96818.

Have your say...
