That is the table is cedar ~ our deck is not. We had one of those metal tube tables from one of the “Mart” stores and as time and weather took it’s toll, the frame pretty well rusted out. I started to clean it up and spray paint it with some spray paint from a can and well … I just thought “I can do better than this!” So I picked up some cedar and here it is. I salvaged the glass from the old table.
I wanted to be able to disassemble it for winter storage so it all goes together with 5/16 carriage bolts and hanger bolts with cap nuts (to save the shins). Only a 1/2 inch wrench is needed and I can assemble it in less than 5 minutes. Several coats of Man O War spar ~ I did the legs “rotisserie” style so I could varnish all 4 sides at once. Put the nail just slightly off center and they will self rotate so one side turns it self up and you don’t have to hold it to varnish that last side. A little walnut for inlay just for fun and the spline is some 1/4 marine plywood I had left over.
Alright ~ time for margaritas on the deck.

Looks great, nice idea to disassemble too.
