This was our project from last weekend.

We glued together some pine scraps on Saturday morning, turned them into light sabers by the afternoon.

The kids had fun on the lathe, with my help of course. A couple of their friends want one now, I may have to make a few for the next birthday parties.

Cant wait to see these in action on a piñata!

So far they have only busted their knuckles a few times.

I highly recommend this project to anyone with kids, it was a great time.

Thanks for looking!

That’s the way go about it and get them in the shop ,build them what they want and like.
I like to see them get involved with the tools and not just stand around and get bored .
Great going DAD .

Thanks for the comments guys!

Brian, thanks for the seal of approval. The kids haven’t even seen the movie yet, they go crazy enough just playing Angry Birds Star Wars.

Stref, I think the little one has gotten tired of getting getting his knuckles smacked, havent seen him pic one up in a while.

Kiefer, yeah, thats the idea, get at them with what they like. Get the creative juices flowing, show them that the possibilities are endless for them to make whatever they want.

Thanks again fellas.

That looks like it was a lot of fun. You can’t buy those moments. Make the most of them.

That’s great! Now I have to introduce my 5yr old to Star Wars just so we can do this project. Well done.

What a fantastic project my friend…makes me more anxious for Foster to be a little older and hang with Dad in the shop!
