curly cherry cabinet with spalted elm door panels. 16” deep x 36 1/2” long x 30 1/2” tall. finished with odies oil. cedar veneer ply used for drawer bottoms. red oak drawer sides. the spalted elm came from a tree that was downed in a storm 3 years ago. I sawed off some planks freehand with my chainsaw and let it do its thing until I decided to use it this year.

beautiful piece john, love the dove tails and like the spalted elm, we had a elm come down about a week ago, it fell across the rail tracks just down the road, i went and got about 11 rounds for someone to use as a turning project, right now i have them all packed in sawdust…., but love your cabinet…

Beautiful job with some very unusual wood. And it will only get more beautiful as that cherry ages.

I’ve cut a lot of dead elm but have never seen that much spalting.
